about

Stop, Drop and Knit is a small-batch fiber studio rooted in observation—of season, of place, and of what can be gathered from the natural world.

Each collection begins outside. Materials are foraged locally across Long Island—fallen bark, leaves, mushrooms, and plants—often in quiet moments of noticing rather than searching. These elements move through the dye pot slowly, shaped by time, repetition, and subtle shifts in process. Color is not forced, but revealed.

The resulting palette is grounded and evolving—soft neutrals, weathered tones, and unexpected depth emerging from what might otherwise be overlooked. No two skeins are exactly alike, but each belongs to a larger whole: a collection built with intention, where colors are meant to sit beside one another and be experienced together.

My path to this work was not direct. With a background in music, I’ve always been drawn to rhythm, structure, and nuance—elements that now quietly shape the way I approach both color and fiber. What began as experimentation has become a steady practice—one rooted in patience, curiosity, and a deepening connection to the natural environment.

This work has grown alongside my life at home, where time spent outdoors—often with my son—first opened the door to seeing the landscape differently. What was once simply a walk became a way of gathering, observing, and learning to recognize the potential held within everyday materials.

Stop, Drop and Knit is an extension of that practice.

A place where fiber, color, and season meet—and where what is found, slowly becomes something made.

Alongside the studio, Stop, Drop and Knit also exists as an ongoing conversation through my YouTube podcast, where I share the process behind the work—knitting, spinning, and natural dyeing—as it continues to evolve.

A woman and a young boy stand outdoors near a tree and a wooden fence. The woman, wearing a tan sweater, smiles and leans into the frame, while the boy, wearing a bright yellow T-shirt with cartoon characters, is holding a fish and laughing.
