Solar dyeing is a dye method that embraces the power of the sun to heat the dye bath. Each skein of yarn has been placed in its own mason jar along with cosmos from the garden and left to sit in the summer sun for up to a week. The resulting color is bright and variegated - the parts of the yarn which come into direct contact with the flowers will be the most saturated, while some sections of the yarn that were not in direct contact with the flowers will have less color. Each and every skein is unique and I recommend alternating skeins in your project when multiple skeins will be used together.
Merino mohair is your 100% all natural alternative to a traditional sock yarn. Spun with durability in mind, this blend of 80% fine merino and 20% kid mohair results in a yarn that is strong minus the halo effect that mohair is most well known for. This yarn is perfect for socks and is also just as nice and soft for your sweaters and shawls.
