Part of Earth Gatherings: Before the Bloom
→ Read the full collection story
Dyed with curly dock seeds gathered in late season, Dockseed settles into soft golden tones—sunlit, warm, and gently weathered, with hints of ochre and dried grass.
From a distance, the color reads warm and even. Up close, subtle variation and movement emerge throughout the skein, with deeper golds shifting alongside lighter, sun-washed highlights as the light changes.
The Cuddle base brings a gentle liveliness to the color—its textured structure catching the dye in uneven ways, creating depth and soft contrast that feels organic and unforced.
Details:
100g skein
240 yards (220 meters)
DK weight
100% Fine Merino Wool (21.5 micron)
Single ply boucle, thick and thin
Dye materials (foraged and gathered locally):
Curly dock seeds
Notes:
Skeins are closely matched, dyed together in a single bath.
Color is most accurately represented in the brighter images; tones may appear more muted depending on lighting.
The sweater shown is knit in the same Cuddle base (in different colors), to offer a sense of how the yarn drapes and wears.
