Fired Clay
Part of Earth Gatherings: Before the Bloom
→ Read the full collection story
Dyed as the pokeberry bath began to soften, Fired Clay holds onto the remaining warmth of the color—where soft peach deepens gently into clay. Subtle tonal shifts rest between blush and earth, giving the skein a quiet depth without heaviness.
The Cuddle base allows those shifts to settle unevenly, creating a softly mottled surface where color feels held rather than uniform.
This is a color still holding—warmth gathered, just beginning to settle.
A tone that feels grounded, but not yet fully at rest.
Details:
100g skein
240 yards (220 meters)
DK weight
100% Fine Merino Wool (21.5 micron)
Single ply boucle, thick and thin
Non-superwash
Dye materials (foraged and gathered locally):
Pokeberries
Notes:
Skeins are closely matched, dyed together in a single bath.
The sweater shown is knit in the same Cuddle base (in different colors), to offer a sense of how the yarn drapes and wears.
