Coreopsis Corpse

$48.00

Dyed through a bundle process and immersed in a sumac bath, Coreopsis Corpse was created with sumac berries, homegrown coreopsis, and locally foraged goldenrod gathered on Long Island, New York.

This skein settled into a cool, weathered gray with soft olive-gold traces running through the yarn. The color reads quietly from a distance, but up close the thick-and-thin texture of the Cuddle base reveals subtle shifts where the dye gathered unevenly along the softly irregular surface.

Named for the coreopsis plants left standing at the end of the season, Coreopsis Corpse captures that in-between moment when the garden is no longer in bloom but has not yet disappeared—spent flowers, seed heads, faded stems, and the last traces of color still hanging on. On the Cuddle base, those variations are amplified by the boucle-like texture, giving the skein a soft, slightly wild surface and a natural sense of movement throughout.

Details:

• 100g skein
• 240 yards (220 meters)
• DK weight
• 100% Fine Merino Wool (21.5 micron)
• Single ply boucle, thick and thin
• Non-superwash

Dye materials:

Sumac berries, homegrown coreopsis, and locally foraged goldenrod
(Long Island, New York)

Notes:

Each skein is one of a kind, with natural variation throughout.

The sweater shown is knit in the same Cuddle base (in different colors), to offer a sense of how the yarn drapes and wears.
